Terrorism
The escape of Mas Selamat Kastari
Pass few days ago, there was a terrorist who was on the loose! He was 158 cm tall and weighs about 63 kg, he runs with a limp and he is a JI leader. He is a WANTED man in Singapore our very own country who wants to BOMB Singapore. He is none other Mr. Mas Selamat Kastari.
When I heard about this news on channel 8, I felt like it was nothing. Singapore is safe and has high security. Singapore police force will be able to handle it in no time. Big DEAL!
But when I heard of neighbors feeling insecure, the media sending MMS of the culprit’s photo I realized how big this problem could actually be. Base on how Singapore is reacting, yes, you could tell it was no small matter.
I remembered learning about the cause and impact on terrorism during assembly. It is such a coincidence! I was thinking, could the speaker actually be part of the JI team?
Anyway, I would want to talk about how we students would feel and what we can do to help.
There are two types of different emotions on two different students. One is a student who is very concerned about Singapore, while another is one who has an ignorant attitude. The one who is very concern would usually be afraid on how it will impact Singapore. He would probably be thinking about the trust he used to have with Singapore to be disappearing. Singapore has a very high security measure, but yet, this could actually happen. Why? No one knows. Only him, himself (JI leader). This causes students to feel paranoid and might actually be unable to trust anybody around him. The other student (ignorant) would actually feel that it is nothing.
Upon looking at this, Singaporeans should be concerned but not being ignorant but we should be too paranoid. We should trust that the police force will be able to ensure our safety but we must also be aware. What we SHOULD do is to keep a look out for this man and be aware on what is happening day by day ion the newspaper to be more updated.
Well, that’s all I wanted to say. “SIANZ!”
PS: do you actually know that other countries are talking sarcasm about our country? ARGH!
